The local area around Camping Park Playa Bara & Costa Dorada
The nearest town is the small resort of Coma Ruga, which is a four mile drive away. Here, there is a good range of facilities and a train station with regular links to Barcelona. There is a bus stop directly outside the site where you can get a bus to the old town of Tarragona (15mins). Please note that noise from the nearby train line and road may be heard from the emplacements. The nearest beach is a 600 yard walk through the campsite.
Aqualeon, in El Vendrell (6mls) is a recommended day out, incorporating both a fun park and a safari park. Visit the Parc Naturel del Ebro, an area of great ecological interest south of Tarragona. Take a boat trip through the reserve which is a nesting ground for close to 300 species of bird.
